15 August: Coast Guard Academy Event
Every year, the U.S. Naval Institute partners with the U.S. Coast Guard Academy to bring military leaders, doers, and thinkers to speak to the Corps of Cadets at the Coast Guard Academy. On Tuesday, 15 August at 1845, Commander Frank Weisser, U.S. Navy (Retired), the lead stunt pilot for Tom Cruise in Top Gun: Maverick, will talk about teamwork, excellence, and setting high standards. Commander Weisser is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, an F/A-18 pilot, combat veteran, and two-time Blue Angels lead solo pilot. Limited seats are available for Naval Institute members!
9 October: Naval Institute Sesquicentennial
Join us on 9 October at the Naval Institute’s Jack C. Taylor Conference Center in Annapolis, Maryland, to celebrate 150 years of the open forum and those who dare to read, think, speak, and write. 25 October: Naval Academy/Naval Institute Conference
On Wednesday, 25 October, the Naval Institute, with support from the U.S. Naval Academy Leadership Department, will host a conference titled, “Critical Thinking: Our Greatest Weapon to Winning Tomorrow’s War?” at the Jack C. Taylor Conference Center. Government, military, and academic leaders will discuss creating a culture of critical thinking and preparing the minds of our warriors and future leaders. Outthinking the adversary may be the key to victory in future conflicts.
