Lieutenant (J.G.) Niedbala graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 2019. Following graduation, he served two years on CGC Escanaba (WMEC-907) as a deck watch officer, and currently serves as the executive officer of CGC Donald Horsley (WPC-1117), homeported San Juan, Puerto Rico.
