Lieutenant Hernandez, a 2018 graduate of the Coast Guard Academy, has served as a supply officer on board the USCGC Steadfast (WMEC-623) and as commanding officer of the Swordfish (WPB-87358). In 2023, she was one of the first students to complete COPT-R. She is pursuing a master’s degree in human resource management through American Military University and is on schedule to receive her Wings of Gold in 2024.
