In October 1985, Proceedings featured Surface Warfare in a speical issue; in October 1986, Naval Aviation received special issue treatment Submarine and Antisubmarine Warfare was the focus of the October 1987 issue of Proceedings. To encourage thinking and writing for this special issue. The subject was, "Submarine and Antisubmarine Warfare Today and Tomorrow."
