'The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.'
-Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826)
In a literally picture-perfect—yet unidentified—1944 anchorage, a Coast Guard ocean-going tug pulls up alongside a freighter to render aid. The tug, the USCGC Arundel (WYT-90), spent most of her World War II service in Greenland waters around Kungnat Bay. Launched and commissioned in 1939, she was decommissioned in 1982, and as late as 2007 was still at work, then on Lake Michigan, renamed the Erika Kobasic.
