Serving for two years in the western Pacific in the U.S.S. Kishwaukee (AOG-9), Lieutenant Staring was first lieutenant and cargo officer, and then executive officer of the ship. He is a member of the California Bar and at present with the Office of General Counsel, Navy Department, assigned to Commander, Military Sea Transportation Service, Pacific Area, in San Francisco.
