John M. Wright, JOC, U. S. Navy, is a Torpedoman turned Journalist. Since enlisting in Texas in 1938, he has served on the submarines U.S.S. S-28, U.S.S. Swordfish, U.S.S. Crevalle, and U.S.S. Baya. His war years were spent on submarine patrol in the South Pacific and China Sea broken by a tour as instructor in submarines at Freemantle, Australia.

Three years, 1946-49, of recruiting in Oklahoma City was followed by a course at the Armed Forces Information School, Carlisle, Pa. As Journalist he served on the Staff of ComSubRon THREE, ComSubRon FIVE, and Commander Submarine Flotilla ONE in San Diego, California. At present he is attached to the Office of the Chief of Information, Navy Department.
